A riveting account of the journey of George N. Schuster Sr. on a race around the world in a 1907 Thomas Flyer as told by his great-grandson Jeff Mahl with the help of Bob Sblendorio and John Taibi. This story, written from the personal journal of George Schuster, recounts the tale of the 1908 "Great Race" from New York to Paris. Six cars started at the line in New York City, battling snow, ice, mud, and extreme terrain across the United States, Asia and Europe. For the Thomas Flyer and the American team the trip lasted 169 days and over 22,000 miles traveled.
